Craftopia Developer PocketPair Announces New Co-op Monster Taming Survival Game Called Palworld

PocketPair, the studio behind Craftopia, has just announced a new cutesy co-op survival game called Palworld. The “Pal” in the title doesn’t refer to your survival buddy but to Pokemon-like creatures that will be one of the focal points of the upcoming game.

“Make your Pals fight, build, farm, and work in factories,” said PocketPair.

“Palworld is a brand-new, multiplayer, open-world survival crafting game where you can befriend and collect mysterious creatures called ‘Pal’ in a vast world! Make your Pals fight, build, farm, and work in factories.”

Palworld bears a lot of similarity to Craftopia, including a vast fully-explorable cel-shaded anime-inspired world. Players will also be able to craft useful items, build a variety of structures, plant and harvest resources, and run dungeons with their friends. The game is scheduled for release sometime in 2022 and is now available for wishlisting on Steam.

With a new game in development, Craftopia players might be worried about the game’s future. The studio assures players that they’ll still be giving the multiplayer crafting game the attention it deserves. In fact, the game is due for a major update on June 23 that will bump up the level cap and stat limits and introduce a new pet system, new bosses, guns, a new building, and possibly Steam Workshop mod support.

“Many users may be worried about the future development of Craftopia,” said PocketPair. “However, the development team of Craftopia has expanded from an initial team of four to a current team of more than 15 people. The expansion of the team has enabled us to work on drastic improvements that we’ve put off until now. The next major update will also greatly improve the performance of the game.”
