Crowfall Devs Talk About Upcoming Changes To Forts And Keeps In The Latest Q&A Livestream

crowfall snowy keep bannerArtCraft Entertainment Creative Director J. Todd Coleman and Design Director Thomas Blair talks about the changes coming to Crowfall with the next update in their July Q&A livestream. According to the devs, the next update will mostly focus on improvements to forts and keeps.

Forts will become less useful as a base of operations and will function more like an outpost. They will, however, still have capture points and will still spawn materials. Keeps, on the other hand, will be significantly improved to serve as a base for players and will be redesigned to offer more variety and challenges for attacking players.

The update will also change the capture times for both Forts and Keeps. Forts will be available for capture every day while Keeps will be available twice a week. All Keeps will also be open for capture at the same time to force players to choose whether to attack a Keep or defend their own.

The developers also plan to make better use of the new in-game alert system with the addition of more open-world events to encourage players to group up in order to take on a world boss and ideally engage in some PvP as well. Ranged weapons will also be nerfed and weapon damage outputs will be flattened to discourage min-maxing.

Meanwhile, the new Maresk Dregs Campaign is now live in the game until 8pm PDT on July 23rd. You’ll find the full July 2020 Q&A stream below.
