Crowfall Hits $3 Million In Crowdfunding, Persistent World Test Soon

ArtCraft announced today that its upcoming "throne war simulator," Crowfall, has passed the $3 million in crowdfunding milestone, bringing its total funding to over $10 million. While not quite enough to compete with crowdfunding heavyweights Shroud of the Avatar and Star Citizen, it is quite impressive to see that such a large amount of money has been pledged to the title.
ArtCraft Entertainment President and Executive Producer Gordon Walton had the following to say about the announcement.
Over 18 months ago, Crowfall became one of the top 20 video game crowdfunding projects of all time, collecting almost $1.8m from over 16,000 backers. We continue to see amazing growth, with new backers joining our community every month.
ArtCraft Entertainment CEO and Chief Creative Officer J. Todd Coleman also weighed in on the announcement.
It’s amazing that we crossed this milestone just days before the first public test of our persistent world server. Until now, we’ve been limited to testing modular systems like combat or castle destruction. This is our first chance to play the game in a large, sprawling game world and for days instead of hours.
The milestone was hit mere days before the launch of the first persistent world playtest. The press release states that the test, also known as the "Big World" test, will begin in a few days, but you can find footage of the open world, which was recorded by a player, embedded below.
