Dauntless Players Voice Concerns About Lack Of New Content And Updates

Discontent is rising among the Dauntless community as updates seem to have waned for the monster-slaying MMO, with the latest patch being just two items long. While micro-updates and hotfixes aren’t exactly uncommon in MMO games, the recent string of small updates leading up to it has the community more than just a little concerned.

It’s worth noting that the patch in question is still important regardless of its size since it addresses performance issues and crashes on specific platforms. The last few updates, however, were also very light on content and simply kicked off new Gauntlet seasons and introduced new battle pass rewards, leading to complaints and speculation about the current state of the game following the recent layoffs and game cancellations.

The game’s development roadmap also hasn’t been updated in quite a while with the new behemoth and tonic refresh planned for January still “on hold” and other features which were deployed earlier this year still labeled as “new.”

Whether the game is indeed in maintenance mode as some player believer, or whether the studio is simply trying to consolidate its teams as part of its ongoing restructuring is still unclear. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear from Phoenix Labs.
