David Brevik Shuts Down Rumors That He's Working On Diablo

Last week, Blizzard North and Flagship Studios co-founder and "creator of Diablo" David Brevik teased fans with the following tweets, indicating that he was both at Blizzard headquarters and working on a Diablo-like title.

Amidst speculation that Blizzard might be announcing Diablo 4 and BlizzCon next month, fans immediately began to speculate that Brevik was working on a Diablo title, perhaps Diablo 4. Today, Brevik dismissed the rumors entirely in the following tweet.

There has been a lot of speculation (and hope), but I'm not working on the Diablo franchise currently or in the near future#sorry #muchlove

As he has only confirmed that he is not personally working on a Diablo title, it is entirely possible that Blizzard may yet announce a Diablo title at BlizzCon. Brevik simply won't be involved. Instead, it seems that he is working on an unrelated title that is Diablo-like in nature.
