Dean Hall's New Game Is Stationeers: Manage Your Own Space Station

At EGX Rezzed, a London-based convention, Dean Hall revealed his next game, Stationeers—and it was playable on the floor. Rocketwerkz provided the following overview about the project to Eurogamer:

"Inspired by the beloved Space Station 13, Stationeers puts you in control of the construction and management of a space station either by yourself in single-player, or online with your friends. Complex systems around atmospherics, power generation, medical, agriculture, food, and gravity require your thought and management at all times."

Stationeers is inspired by the 2003 [complex] space station management game Space Station 13. Appropriate name right? So, we can expect the Minecraft-looking characters of Stationeers to tackle confusing and dangerous situations to stay alive. It's a niche title, for a niche audience.

The game will be on Steam as an Early Access project in the nebulous "soon" future. You'll be able to play it single player or with a few friends.

The DayZ creator recently announced that his sci-fi MMORPG Ion had been abandoned. I can only speculate that work on Ion translated into Stationeers since they do tackle overlapping concepts. Having not played Space Station 13, I'm interested to see what Stationeers is all about.
