Dragon Nest—yes, Dragon Nest—is getting an animated movie. According to Inven, the movie, which is called "드래곤네스트: 평화기사단 vs 블랙드래곤" or something along the lines of "Dragon Nest: Peace Knights vs. Black Dragon," will be released on November 17th in South Korea.

To celebrate the release of the movie, several events are being held on the game's Korean service. The first event, which is live from today until November 13th, asks players to send in "their stories" for a chance at being one of 400 lucky players that gets a preview ticket and an in-game "Hellnight Hound" pet. The second event, which will be live from November 17th to December 1st, asks players to verify that they went to see the movie by posting pictures of their tickets on the official Facebook page; those that verify that do will be awarded an in-game bat pet.

You can get a look at the movie in the trailer below. It's not the most impressive animation I've seen, to say the least, but perhaps it will be somewhat entertaining despite that. That being said, it's surprising to me that Dragon Nest was seen as a recognizable enough franchise to have made a movie in the first place. The game didn't do great in the West—Nexon America even handed the game over to developer Eyedentity Games recently—but perhaps it's a vastly different story in South Korea.

Thanks to NepNep for the tip!
