Dual Universe Gets A 10 Minute Developer Walkthrough

dual-universe-desert-bannerIf you watched the first teaser trailer for Dual Universe last month, chances are that one of your first thoughts was "this can't all be working as described." Today, Novaquark aimed to dispel that thought with a 10 minute walkthrough of the current Pre-Alpha build lead by its own J.C. In the video, J.C. covers the current building system, which allows you to cut out different shapes from the procedurally generated terrain and place them once again in real-time, as well as connect two surfaces.

He then covers vehicles. Vehicles are partially made of voxels, but differ in the sense that they have set pieces called "elements." Elements are pre-defined objects such as cockpits or engines. Some elements add functionality to your craft, but others are merely there for decorative purposes. In the future, players will be able to script the UI of their craft using Lua. What they can add to the UI will be determined by the elements that have been added to their craft.
