Dungeons And Dragons Online Delays Level Cap Increase Due To ‘Global Crisis’

dungeons and dragons online groupMax-level players in Dungeons and Dragons Online eagerly awaiting the promised level cap increase will be disappointed to know that Standing Stone Games has pushed it back to 2021. Both the level cap increase and the Epic Destiny revamp was scheduled to roll out with the upcoming Feywild expansion but has been delayed because of the global pandemic.

“We built in a lengthy lead up time to allow us to iterate both internally and with the Player's Council; however, what wasn't accounted for was the possibility of a global crisis,” says the studio. “As a result, we have come to the conclusion that, while we could push through and finish implementing the level cap increase and all of the changes related to it (such as a highly rumored Epic Destiny revamp to make sure they fit in the new builds ecosystem) by the end of the year, we don't want to rush forward with such widespread important changes without time to iterate and make sure we get it right.”

In place of the missing features, the Feywild expansion will be launching with a “big systems feature” in the form of a revamp of the current Augment system. The revamp will feature new unique augments along with changes to the system itself as a whole. Players can also look forward to a new race, a new iconic race, new quests, a new universal tree, and more.

A release date for the expansion has yet to be announced. More information can be found on the Dungeons and Dragons Online official site.
