After a month’s delay, Standing Stone Games has finally let dinosaurs loose in Dungeons and Dragons Online as the Isle of Dread expansion officially goes live. The expansion is based on the classic D&D module of the same name which was originally published back in 1981 and is one of the most popular modules for the tabletop RPG.

“A mysterious island reappears off the coast of Stormreach and Foxpaw has been kidnapped by pirates to be dragged away to the island. To make matters worse, the Cult of Vecna has been sighted in the region. It can't be a coincidence. Prehistoric dangers await any that step onto the island's shores...if they can survive the passage.”

Players who purchase the new expansion will now be able to explore the island and investigate its mysterious ruins as they go up against challenging new enemies including fearsome pirates and massive dinosaurs. They’ll also get access to all-new quests, a new raid, and the new feline humanoid Tabaxi race.

Those who decide to pass up on the expansion will still be able to enjoy a level cap increase to 32 along with other gameplay improvements. A detailed rundown of these can be found in the full Update 55 release notes on the Dungeons and Dragons Online official site.
