As was announced last month, Kakao Games has officially relaunched Echo of Soul in South Korea. The game entered Open Beta yesterday after a short "Pre-OBT." Several "Blessing Buffs" will be active over the weekend in celebration of the relaunch.

The relaunch comes with the all-new Paladin class. Future updates include the addition of a hard mode to the "Dryad raid" sometime in the next week or two, a new battleground and new guild content in November, a new party dungeon called "Ice Labyrinth" in December, and more. There is no word yet on if or when these updates will make it to the Aeria Games version of the title.

While many of you are likely wondering why Kakao Games would opt to resurrect what many view as an utterly forgettable title, the truth of the matter is that it does quite well overseas, second only to Soul Worker on Hangame's Japanese gaming portal. It originally shut down in Korea because Hangame refocused on mobile titles, not because it was unsuccessful. In fact, as part of its refocusing, Hangame even dropped the Korean version of TERA, which was handed off to Nexon.
