ZeniMax Apologizes For Extremely Long Queue Times In Elder Scrolls Online

Elder Scrolls Online players are currently experiencing surprisingly long queue times due to a bug that’s causing delays for those logging into the MMO. The problem is further compounded by the recent surge in player numbers after Epic Games gave the base game away for free two weeks ago.
ZeniMax Online Studios apologized for the queues and assured players that they’re actively working to fix the issue. “While many were in the game and playing, a significant number were essentially ‘stuck’ in queue with far higher queue times than expected,” ZeniMax reported. “After a few hours of investigation, we identified the problem which boiled down to a backend system being in a bad state and needed to be restarted. However, due to there being so many players in queue when it was restarted, it took a long time to get everyone through the queue and into the game.”
Unfortunately, it looks like it’s going to take a while before the queues disappear since “so many new players in the game right now” thanks to the Epic Games Store giveaway.
We apologize for the long queue times some players experienced over the weekend. For more information, please see our official post in the forums. https://t.co/PeCClrjSbc
