Dragons Take Flight In Elder Scrolls Online As Elsweyr Hits The PTS

elder scrolls online dragon escapeThe citizens of Tamriel get their first glimpse of dragons as Elsweyr goes live on The Elder Scrolls Online Public Test Server today. Elsweyr is the latest chapter in ESO and the second part of the year-long Season of the Dragon adventure. The chapter opens up the Khajiit homeland to adventurers, introduces the new Necromancer class, the new Sunspire Trial, and of course, dragons!

“Practicing necromancy in Tamriel is a criminal act. In most cases, mages caught casting necromantic spells can feign ignorance or insist that the spell originates from a different school of magic. Some spells, however, are too horrific to overlook. Any necromantic ability marked as a 'CRIMINAL ACT' is a major crime, and will offend the locals and alert the guards.”

The release also comes with Update 22 for the base game which includes the new Guild Finder, new guild features, PvP Weapon Artifacts, Cyrodiil Campaign tweaks, reworked item sets, and more.

If you’ve tested a chapter before, you can jump right into Elsweyr through the ESO launcher. Just make sure you have “Show Public Test Environment” enabled. If this is your first time, you’ll get an invite as long as you’ve played the game within the past year. Because of the size of the test group, ZeniMax will be sending out invites in waves over the next few days so don’t worry if you haven’t received one yet.

Keep in mind that testers will be required to agree to an NDA to avoid spoilers. The NDA, however, is limited to the main quests and storyline. Everything else is fair game.

“You can share almost all of your ESO: Elsweyr gameplay publicly, including side quests, the Necromancer class, the Sunspire Trial, open world adventures, Dragon Hunt Events, Delves, World Bosses, Public Dungeons, and anything in the base game, but please refrain from sharing any details related to the main quest beyond “A Rage of Dragons” and its storyline.”

Remember to leave feedback so the devs can work out the kinks in time for the Chapter’s official release. Early Access starts on May 20th for PC and Mac followed by the full release on June 4th for all platforms.
