Elder Scrolls Online Previews Ascending Tide’s Coral Aerie Four-Player Dungeon

ZeniMax Online is paving the way for the launch of the Elder Scrolls Online Ascending Tide DLC later this month with a new preview blog. The blog offers a preview of one of the new four-player dungeons arriving with the DLC – the Coral Aerie.
“Situated along Summerset’s northern coast, the Coral Aerie’s colorful caverns and archaic Elven ruins shelter a secret Ascendant Order hideout. Well-secluded from prying eyes, this unique location was selected by the mysterious organization for a very specific reason.”
According to Encounters Lead Mike Finnigan, the Ascendant Order chose to build their base on Coral Aerie because of the locations unimpeded access to the sky which allowed them to use Gryphons to launch surprise attacks on their enemies.
“Equal parts enigmatic and dangerous, the Ascendant Order base is a threat in and of itself, but that is not the only reason why you and your party venture into this coral lair. If you’ve played ESO’s Daggerfall Covenant storyline, you will immediately encounter some familiar faces when you enter this new dungeon.”
Aside from seeing old faces, players who venture into the coral cove will also find themselves facing vicious sea monsters and will be battling the forces of the Ascendant Order as they move deeper into the dungeon. They’ll also go toe to toe with the Coral Aerie’s three dungeon bosses, Ascendant Order champions, and giant Yaghra monstrosities.
New rewards also await players who successfully overcome the dungeon’s challenges, including three new item sets and a monster mask set. Players who complete the dungeon in Hard Mode will also be awarded the “Gryphon Handler” title, while those who unlock the Coral Aerie Conqueror achievement will be rewarded with the Guardian’s Frozen Shard memento.
“We have never used Summerset, its Elven ruins, and gryphons in a four-player dungeon before,” said Finnigan. “So, this dungeon gave us the perfect opportunity to explore those aspects of the game. That said, we also wanted the side or hidden content within the dungeon to tell its own story, too.”
“Stop and smell the coral,” he joked. “There are nooks and crannies and areas to explore that can reward those brave enough to venture off the beaten path.”
The Ascending Tide DLC will be the first content drop for this year’s Legacy of the Bretons story arc and will be launching on PC/Mac and Google Stadia on March 14th and on PlayStation and Xbox consoles on March 29th.
