Elder Scrolls Online will be getting another round of combat and skill tweaks when Update 36 for the base game rolls out alongside the Firesong DLC in November. ZeniMax, however, assures players that the upcoming changes will be on the conservative side and won’t be as sweeping or as rage-inducing as the last combat update.

The bulk of Update 36 will focus on small, targeted adjustments to several abilities and passives in the fantasy MMORPG. Some of the bigger adjustments include a change to Backlash’s final hit damage which will scale with a character’s highest offensive stat rather than scaling with weapon or spell damage. Occult Overload’s explosion damage is also getting nerfed and the skill itself will be getting a 1 second cooldown to prevent multiple procs but will apply a random status effect to all enemies hit.

And finally, the Warden’s Advanced Species passive will no longer grant a penetration bonus but will increase critical damage instead. Additionally, the Piercing Cold passive will no longer enhance specific damage types but will be enhancing overall damage which can be increased further by using an Ice Staff.

Players can also expect smaller tweaks to other skills, along with various bug fixes and performance improvements.

Update 36 and the Firesong DLC will be launching on PC/Mac and Stadia on November 1st and on PlayStation and Xbox consoles on November 15th.
