Elite: Dangerous players scored a major win in the long-running Thargoid War last week when they successfully destroyed the first of the invaders’ Titan ships, the Taranis Titan. It took roughly a week to whittle the massive alien ship’s health down to zero, but it was a week well spent as everyone who engaged the ships’ heat source at least once was awarded premium currency for their efforts.

With the Tarnis Titan now reduced to space dust, the offensive is now making a beeline for the Leigong Titan. It’s going to be a more grueling battle though as Frontier Developments reveals in a recent forum post.

“The community’s success at Taranis was hugely impressive but the remaining Titans will test your coordination,” warns the studio. “They’ll need to be much more vulnerable for your attacks to be effective. It’s time to take back every star system and make that final assault count.”

As the team prepares the Leigong Titan for the looming battle, it’s also made a few changes to how a Titan’s defeat will affect the overall war effort. Starting today, defeating a Titan before the main invasion force arrives will automatically end all alert states within that system. The change should make it easier for players to purge the system of all Thargoid presence while also encouraging them to bring their A-game when taking on the giant alien starfish. God speed, Commanders. O7
