Elyon: Ascent Infinite Realm’s Western Publisher Kakao Games Confirms Title And Game Changes
Yesterday, we broke the news that Korean developer Daum Games has renamed their upcoming MMORPG Ascent: Infinite Realm to Elyon: Ascent Infinite Realm. Today, we got official confirmation from Kakao Games, the game’s western publisher, in an official press release.
“Kakao Games and Krafton have announced the new name of Ascent: Infinite Realm. The game has officially been renamed to Elyon. This is to better reflect the new focus of the game with the pivot of the core design of the product.
The name Elyon is meant to evoke the adventure of exploring a new world and is also the name of the portals that players will be fighting over when striving for dominance of the world with their chosen faction.”
Kakao also confirmed that the game is currently undergoing a major overhaul and will feature a new setting, new lore, and a new combat system. “The developers have decided to focus on combat, adventure and both faction and individual battles,” says the publisher. “The core combat system has moved away from tab-targeting to skill-based, free action combat that also has a rich array of customization.”
Elyon still doesn’t have a western release date but Kakao Games assures the community that they will be handling the game for both the North American and European markets. Take a look at early footage of the game in the video below, courtesy of MMOCulture.
