As EVE Online celebrates its 20th anniversary, the space sandbox’s game director, CCP Rattati, has taken time to take a retrospective look at the game’s journey in his latest director’s letter. The letter looks back at the past two decades with particular emphasis on the significant events of the past nine months, including the recent release of the Viridian expansion.

“Friendship, creation, contribution, and destruction are a big part of what EVE is all about, and that is what we will build towards with our exceptional community,” he wrote. “Our goal is to give everyone a place and role to play, a purpose and drive no matter what your career path, or focus, is in EVE.”

Rattati also teased what’s coming to the game in the near future, saying that the team is now hard at work on the game’s winter expansion. Before then, players can look forward to the Crimson Harvest and Winter Nexus events. The Empire Day event, however, has been placed on the backburner to give the team time to improve their backend tools which will allow them to deliver “bigger and better content, faster and more reliably.”

The letter also confirmed that the next Arc Event will be kicking off sometime in the next few weeks and came with an updated roadmap that offers a glimpse of what’s coming up until the end of the year.eve online 2023 content roadmap
