EVE Online previews updates to UI, Scanning, and Beta Map

Is it a leak if the company who is behind it is leaking it on purpose? On a completely unrelated note, EVE Online has previewed some new features coming with their next update, scheduled to arrive on August 15th.

NPC Standings

Introducing what is arguably the biggest part of this update, the new NPC Standings menu comes with certain key features that will help players keep track of certain values. At the top, a bar to represent current standings with a selected Faction, Corporation, or Agent. On the left is where players can find all of the NPC Factons, Corps, and Agents they have encountered. The right features standings history with the currently selected party. According to the EVE Online developers, this last feature is already in the game, but "takes about 6 clicks and 3 different windows to access."

Scanning & Map Changes

Cosmic Signature scan results will now persist. Signature ID will be added to the front of bookmarks when the Save Location option in the Probe Scanner is used. Two very nice changes that players can appreciate. To quote -

From the August release onwards, scanning progress will be stored until you restart your client. The results will no longer be cleared when docking, jumping wormholes, or doing basically anything else that would have previously caused a session change and cleared the list.

This will only be for Cosmic Signatures. Anything located with combat scans will not persist, such as ships, citadels etc [sic]

Regarding the Beta Map, players can expect to see better performance when rotating and zooming on the map, "especially when down at the constellation or solar system level." Map is now pitch-constrained, and hovering over a solar system will now show how many jumps it will take to arrive there. An an ominous "and more..." can be found on the announcement page.

That being said, EVE Devs are looking for feedback and opinions on these changes! Players can leave their two cents here, in preparation of the new update.
