It’s Halloween in the EverQuest universe, where both EverQuest and EverQuest II are kicking off their seasonal spook-fests with a vengeance. If you’re looking for a frightfully good time in your favorite MMORPG, look no further.

EverQuest is bringing back its beloved Nights of the Dead event, with new treats (and tricks!) added to the cauldron. Players can expect a host of fresh “sinister” housing items, creepy metamorphs, and even a new illusion.

“The Nights of the Dead event has rolled in like a dense fog on a cool, autumn evening!” Darkpaw announced. “To get this monster mash started, head over to the Plane of Knowledge and find Zigan Ribshard, Edmund Strangeways, and Illis Taberish. These three spectre-tacular NPCs are dead-icated to getting you on the right path for this year’s event.”

The scares don’t end there. Across the Plains of Karana, a troublesome witch is wreaking havoc on the local farmers, and familiar faces like Minda and Tukk need help with their annual hair-raising problem. EverQuest’s Nights of the Dead runs through November 5th, giving you plenty of time to brew up some seasonal mischief.

Meanwhile, EverQuest 2 is conjuring its own spooky shenanigans as it gears up for its official Nights of the Dead launch later in October. While fans are currently preoccupied with the Scars of Destruction beta and the build-up to the game’s 20th anniversary, the studio teased that this year’s event will be even more spine-tingling with a themed raid and special rewards marking the Year of Darkpaw.

So whether you’re haunting Norrath’s original lands or diving into its sequel’s darker realms, it’s time to don your scariest gear and prepare for tricks, treats, and a whole lot of ghostly fun.
