It’s an extremely competitive world out there for MMO’s and not every game has what it takes to make it big. Case in point is Level 5’s mobile multiplayer RPG Fantasy Life Online which will be shutting down after just a little over two years in operation.

The game initially launched on Android and iOS devices in Japan in 2018 but was shut down in 2021 just a few days after the release of its global version, which, unfortunately, will be meeting the same fate.

“Considering the overall operation situation and the adjustment of the strategy of the operation team, with a heavy heart, we’re sorry to inform you that we decided to shut down the game Fantasy Life Online on February 6th, 2023,” announced the Japanese studio.

The studio will be refunding all premium currency purchases and will be handing out weekly currency stipends as compensation up until the servers are taken permanently offline. Refund requests will be accepted only until February 6th.

Fantasy Life Online is the sequel to Fantasy Life which launched on the Nintendo 3DS back in 2014 and also offers a multiplayer option if you’re looking for roughly the same experience.
