Final Fantasy XI Director Mizuki Ito Is Leaving The Development Team

After more than fifteen years working on Final Fantasy XI—five of which he spent as the game's Director—Mizuki Ito is leaving the game behind. According to Ito, the game is "one of the hallmark moments of [his] career." From here, he wants to "watch over FINAL FANTASY XI as one of its biggest fans." According to the announcement, he officially stepped down as of the end of March.

Starting in November, Yoji Fujito will be taking over as Final Fantasy XI's Director. Fujito previously worked on "system and non-battle content, as well as team operational support."
