Final Fantasy XIV Kicks Off Hatching-Tide Next Week With Tonberry-Themed Rewards

Meet the Tonberries: they’re small, they’re green, and they’re prepared to stick a knife in you as soon as they’re slow little legs can get them close enough. The knife-wielding rascals will be taking center stage in Final Fantasy XIV’s upcoming Hatching-Tide event which will run from March 27th to April 10th.
During the event, players will be able to take on seasonal quests from Jihli Aliapoh in Old Gridania to obtain Tonberry outfit pieces, the new Tonberry-inspired “Frighten” emote, and house decorations. Several item rewards from previous iterations of the event can also be purchased from the Dreamer until the event comes to a close.
Players will also need to take into account a 24-hour downtime on April 3rd when planning for the event. The extended maintenance is part of Square Enix’s efforts to upgrade and replace its North American data center with new hardware. All data on the old servers will automatically be transferred to the new ones without requiring any player action.
“The FINAL FANTASY XIV Development and Operations teams will exercise the utmost care in ensuring all data is safely and successfully transferred,” promised the devs.
