Final Fantasy XIV’s New Ultimate Duty Challenges Players To Defeat Omega Once Again

After dropping a bunch of new content in Final Fantasy XIV earlier this month, Square Enix is challenging the fantasy MMORPG’s players to take on it’s toughest fight yet, the Omega Protocol (Ultimate) encounter. The new Ultimate Duty will once again pit players against Omega in a reimagined world where the mechanized superboss remains undefeated and with the difficulty cranked all the way up.

“What if Omega’s relentless testing had continued, and provided the elusive answer it sought? The minstrel's words invite you to imagine this scenario ─ to entertain the possibility of that which may have been ─ and follow the experiment to its ultimate conclusion.”

The Omega Protocol is currently the toughest encounter in the game and should prove to be a worthy challenge for even the most experienced players. The new duty is open to players who’ve completed the Abyssos: The Eighth Circle raid on Savage difficulty and will require a group of eight max level players to even have a remote chance of taking down the souped-up superboss.
