Final Fantasy XIV Releases New Information Regarding Shirogane Housing; New Message from the Producer

Final Fantasy XIV ever-approaches Patch 4.1, and with it comes the ability to purchase housing in Shirogane. It will be the fourth residential area where players can own houses, alongside the Mist, the Goblet, and the Lavender Beds.

Patch 4.1 also brings with it a new Relocation feature, where players who wish to purchase new plots of land, but currently own one already. Normally, players cannot own more than one plot of land, and the Relocation function makes it easy for players to transfer their houses between subdivisions, wards, and even residential areas.

(Cost of Relocation) = (Destination Plot Price) – (30% of Old Plot Price)

You can read more about the new housing features coming to FFXIV here.

Additionally, the Director/Producer of Final Fantasy XIV, Yoshi-P, took to the forums earlier today, with a special message regarding the auto-demolition of player housing. As many players of FFXIV know, player housing will automatically be demolished if it goes unused for 30 days. However, with the United States being heavily impacted by hurricanes recently, many players may be unable to log on to FFXIV to make sure their houses are continually registered as being "in-use." To this end, auto-demolition has been suspended, for two weeks. The message is as follows.

FFXIV Producer and Director Yoshi-P here.

It warms our hearts to see such an outpouring of support for those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Irma in recent days. The thoughts and prayers of all of us on the FFXIV development and operations teams are with the people of Texas, Florida, the Caribbean, and the other areas affected by these terrible storms.

Many of you have requested that we suspend estate auto-demolition, as players in these regions may have difficulty logging in at this time. The team understands this, and so we have decided to suspend auto-demolition temporarily.

Commencement of Auto-Demolition Grace Period: September 15, 2017
Duration: 14 days (tentative)

At the end of this two week period, we will determine whether or not it is necessary to extend the grace period, and inform you all of our decision.

Furthermore, as more detailed information regarding the situation on the ground in these regions becomes available, we will continue to discuss internally what other ways we may be able to ease the burden on those affected.

We pray that the recovery efforts go smoothly, and that those of you who were affected will be able to join us again in Eorzea soon.

We here at MMOs.com wish all of those who were impacted by Hurriances Harvey and Irma a speedy, and safe, recovery.
