Frostkeep Studios Working To Make Faction-Based Survival MMO Rend Bigger And Better

rend grasslands mountFaction-based survival MMO Rend will be hitting Steam Early Access later than expected. After a short Alpha test, ex-World of Warcraft developers, Frostkeep Studios decided to pull the game and push back the game’s Early Access launch to add in more survival MMO elements based on player feedback.

The overhauled version will feature a bigger map, a new control point system similar to Planetside 2, crafting specializations, a clan system, and the ability to build personal bases among others.

For those in the dark, Rend is a fast-paced survival MMO that combines elements of shooters, survival MMOs, MMORPGs, and MOBAs into one unique game. The game features three factions of 20-players each who are perpetually at war with each other for control of the map. Players must protect their faction stone from opposing factions and the Lost Ones, AI creatures that come out at night. Once a faction stone is destroyed, that faction is eliminated from the game until only one faction remains, at which point the server is restarted and the whole process is repeated.

Frostkeep Studios has yet to announce a definite date for the game’s re-launch. We’ll keep you posted as we find out more. Meanwhile, watch Frostkeep Studios CEO Jeremy Wood talk about Rend in the video below courtesy of PCGamer.
