Funcom Talks Conan Exiles In Facebook Q&A

In preparation for Conan Exiles' Summer Early Access release, Funcom held a Q&A session on Facebook yesterday to allow those interested in the game to ask questions about it. Not much has been revealed as of yet and it's Funcom's first foray into the survival game genre. Questions pertaining to a variety of topics were answered by "Creative Director Joel Bylos and Executive Producer Lawrence Poe."

The level of character customization available in Conan Exiles will be dependent upon the demand for it during Early Access. The game will be free of invisible walls at launch, but various locations may be artificially blocked off during Early Access. At first, players will only have access to a desert biome and "the unnamed city," but more biomes will be introduced over the course of Early Access. The combat system is said to be influenced by "The Elder Scrolls, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, etc." Combat will be "skill-based," but gear will have some influence. Following in Age of Conan's footsteps, Conan Exiles will in fact feature "topless nudity," with further levels of nudity "up for consideration."

Unfortunately, Funcom is "not ready to announce pricing yet." Player limits per server are still "TBD" and will depend on optimization.
