In September of last year, GameSamba announced that they would be developing and publishing a mobile game based on Tokyo Ghoul and a browser-based, turn-based free-to-play online RPG based on Fairy Tail. The titles are both scheduled to release this year and are both licensed from FUNimation. Today, a new strategic partnership between FUNimation, GameSamba, and NGames—owners of the Game321 portal and developers of many of its games—appears to have sprung up out of this original licensing deal.

According to NGames CEO Jacky Yung, “Quality games based on popular series are increasing in demand." Using this partnership to leverage FUNimation's "leadership in brand acquisition, marketing and rights management," GameSamba's US market expertise, and NGames' experience as a developer and publisher, the trio of companies is aiming to bring multiple mobile and web games based on popular anime properties to fans and gamers alike over the next few years. Unlike NGames' previous efforts I Am Ninja and Pockie Pirates, these games will be officially licensed.

GameSamba and NGames have been partnered in the past for Star Trek: Alien Domain. It was announced alongside this news that NGames would also be stepping in to help develop the titles based on Tokyo Ghoul and Fairy Tail. More titles are slated to be unveiled soon.
