Sci-fi MMORPG fans waiting for a chance to test out Galaxies of Eden in the next few weeks will unfortunately have a longer wait ahead of them. Indie developer MIR Cybernetics has pushed back the sci-fi sandbox game’s pre-Alpha test from Q2 2022 to the end of the year due to backend issues that needed to be addressed.

The studio attributes the delay to unforeseen challenges and roadblocks that have forced them to shift their development focus from gameplay and content to more pressing issues. These include addressing problems with the service automation processes, account management systems, server migration, and switching to a different set of graphics development tools.

MIR says that most of the problems have been addressed and that the team has now started to resume work on actual gameplay-related content. As compensation for the delay, all newsletter subscribers will get a code to redeem a special in-game title.

“We lost almost six months of time working on the above-mentioned issues,” said the team. “Most of the progress was behind the scenes and not something we could share publicly in development blogs. But the good news is that the current roadblocks have been cleared, and we’re back to working on gameplay!”
