A group of former Blizzard Entertainment developers have founded a new studio called Gas Giant Games and are hoping to replicate the Diablo franchise’s success. The studio’s founders, Jay Wilson and Julian Love, previously worked on several games in the series, with the latter having worked on Diablo 4 before his departure. The pair is joined by ex-Disney and THQ executive Dan Kelly as co-founder.

Gas Giant Games will be unveiling its flagship title at this year’s Game Developers Conference which will be held from Monday, March 20th to Friday, March 24th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Unfortunately, the reveal will be limited to potential investors and publishers through a private demo and presentation. The studio, however, has confirmed that the upcoming game is an action RPG with survival elements based on a new IP.

“While we’re not ready to reveal the full details of our in-progress project to the whole world just yet, we can say that fans of our past games will be stoked about what’s to come,” Wilson said. “I can tell you this: our game will deliver insane, visceral combat, engaging progression systems and a unique survival experience — all wrapped into a new and original world that we’re sure you’ll love to explore.”
