Genshin Impact 4.8 "Summertide Scales and Tales" Launches July 17

While Zenless Zone Zero is grabbing all the attention lately, Hoyoverse announced Genshin Impact version 4.8 "Summertide Scales and Tales" launches on July 17th. Update 4.8 introduces a whole host of content including a new map, character, seasonal events, and more.

Key Features of Version 4.8:

• New Map - Simulanka: A limited-time enchanting world filled with origami creatures, clockwork figures, and other mystical beings, inviting players to explore its diverse landscapes alongside characters such as Kirara, Nilou, Navia, and the Wanderer.
• Seasonal Events and Mini-Games: Players can participate in a variety of mini-games across Simulanka, including "Boreal Flurry," "Flying Hatter’s Trick," and "Metropole Trials." Success in these games rewards players with Starsail Coins, which can be used to obtain collectible figurines.

Character Updates and New Arrivals:

• New Outfits: Kirara and Nilou will debut new outfits in this update. Kirara's outfit can be obtained through event participation, while Nilou's will be available for a limited time in the in-game store.
• Emilie - New Five-Star Character: Emilie, a Dendro polearm user and renowned perfumer, joins the roster. She excels in combat against Burning enemies with unique abilities that amplify damage under specific conditions.

Enhanced Gameplay:

• Encounter Point System Optimization: Following adjustments in Version 4.7, Version 4.8 will allow players to store Encounter Points and claim Daily Commission rewards at their convenience. Additionally, the cooldown for claiming rewards from World Bosses has been reduced, facilitating smoother gameplay and quicker resource management.
• Echo Feature: A new visual enhancement called "Echo" will leave a unique trailing effect on characters while sprinting. Players can obtain Echoes for several characters by completing challenges in the Imaginarium Theater lobby.
