Genshin Impact opens up the final island of Inazuma in the popular MMORPG’s Version 2.2 update, a.k.a. Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog. Players can now journey to Tsurumi Island an area that was previously closed off due to a mysterious perpetual fog. A series of new story quests await players who enter the new zone which can be unlocked by first completing the “Seirai Stormchasers” world quest.

Version 2.2 also introduces a new polearm-wielding 4-star Pyro character named Thoma, the Kamisato clan’s housekeeper and a well-known fixer in Inazuma.

“Thoma's Elemental Skill "Blazing Blessing" can deal AoE Pyro Damage, apply Pyro to himself, and summons a defensive Blazing Barrier. When a new Blazing Barrier is obtained, the remaining DMG Absorption of an existing Blazing Barrier will stack and its duration will be refreshed. The maximum DMG Absorption of the Blazing Barrier will not exceed a certain percentage of Thoma's Max HP.

When Thoma uses his Elemental Burst ‘Crimson Ooyoroi,’ he deals AoE Pyro DMG and creates a Scorching Ooyoroi. Characters under the effects of the Scorching Ooyoroi will trigger Fiery Collapses with their Normal Attacks, dealing AoE Pyro DMG and summoning another Blazing Barrier. Except for the amount of DMG they can absorb, the Blazing Barriers created in this way are identical to those created by Thoma's Elemental Skill.”

In addition to a new zone and a new character, the update also adds new weapons and equipment and the new Moshiri Kara domain, and kicks off the Labyrinth Warriors event. The event will run until November 8th and is open to character with Adventure Rank 30 and above.
