Genshin Impact Announces Update 1.3 Release Date Featuring ‘Vigilant Adeptus’ Xiao
Heads up Genshin Impact fans! Developer Mihoyo has just announced that Version 1.3 will be launching on February 3rd on PC, PlayStation 4, and mobile devices. The upcoming banner will introduce two new 5-star characters, the electrifying Keqing and the Vigilant Adeptus, Xiao.
“Xiao has a position of seniority and formidable repute among the adepti. [. . .] If any mortal witnesses Xiao unleashing his true power, it is certain to be under the direst of circumstances – and they will be extremely lucky if they survive the ordeal. This is not because Xiao seeks to harm people. Rather, since Xiao wages a constant war against dark forces powerful enough to devour Liyue in its entirety, any bystanders who witness him in the heat of battle are likely to end up as collateral damage.”
Xiao, also known as the Conqueror of Demons, is a highly-mobile burst damage dealer. He can sacrifice his HP to increase his damage and jumping power for a short period of time.
In addition to new characters, the update will also kick off the Lunar New Year festivities with the Lantern Rite event. Lantern Rite will feature four sub-events: All That Glitters, Lantern Rite Tales, the Xiao Market, and Theater Mechanicus, a tower defense-style challenge where players build and place towers to fight alongside with in a grid-like arena.
Two new 5-star weapons will also be added into the game, the Staff of Homa Spear and the Primordial Jade Sword.
