genshin impact rosaria kunai moonlight bannerThe Genshin Impact team must be doing something right as far as gacha mechanics goes because the mobile game has raked in over $1 billion in player spending less than six months after its launch. By comparison, Pokemon Go hit the same figure nine months after its release.

According to Sensor Tower, players spend an average of $160 million per month on the game since December. The game also ranks third on Google Play and the App Store’s most revenue generating titles and the number 1 top-grossing mobile game over the past 30 days.

The mobile game’s success is largely due to the regular addition of new features and events as well as the introduction of new characters which results in a significant spike in player spending. Average daily spending in the game is reported to be around $5.8 million but Hu Tao’s debut on March 2 saw revenues rise to nearly $13 million in one day, while Xiao’s arrival saw a revenue spike of $15 million.

On the subject of new characters, a new banner is slated to arrive on April 6 with the release of Version 1.4 featuring the Cryo character Rosaria. Check out the Version 1.4 livestream below to catch a glimpse of Rosaria and for more information about the upcoming update and banner.
