Guild Wars 2 Kicks Off Lunar New Year Celebrations In Divinity’s Reach
Technically, the Lunar New Year is still a few weeks off but the citizens of Tyria are already welcoming the Year of the Boar as Guild Wars 2 kicks off their annual Lunar New Year Festival. And, like any New Year celebration, there’s food, fireworks, gifts, and even more food!
“Another year dawns on Tyria—join the festivities in Divinity's Reach! The Year of the Boar is upon us, and the Lunar New Year festival returns with new rewards and activities. Collect and open lucky envelopes to earn essences of luck, delicious foods, fireworks, valuable items, and a chance to find the new boar lantern back items!”
This year’s celebration includes the addition of a new course in the Firecracker Lighting Adventure where, according to ArenaNet, “Players can now test their navigation skills across the grand edifices of Divinity's Reach!” Players who wish to join in on the festivities can hitch a ride on one of the friendly celestial dragons that will be hanging out in various capital cities for the duration of the event.
In addition to Lunar New Year content, the latest patch also includes the usual array of class tweaks, game adjustments, and bug fixes. You can read through the full list of changes on the official patch notes over at the Guild Wars 2 official forums. Gong Xi Fa Cai everyone!
