Guild Wars 2 Dropped A Mysterious Teaser Video That’s Got The Community Buzzing

ArenaNet has just dropped a mysterious teaser clip hot on the heels of Guild Wars 2’s new What Lies Within episode release, and it’s got the entire community buzzing. Clocking in at a mere 15 seconds, the teaser video hints at “a new threat emerges beginning summer 2023.”

There’s really not much to go on except for eerie laughter in the background, a ticking clock, marching sounds (or it could be flapping wings), and what sounds like bubbling water, whooshing wind, or boiling lava. The interpretations are as varied as the player base itself.

The Guild Wars 2 community is divided over the meaning behind this cryptic teaser, although ArenaNet has confirmed that it has nothing to do with the new Fractal set to arrive in June. Speculation currently leans towards another expansion announcement, as ArenaNet had already dropped hints about it in the form of concept sketches of new, menacing-looking creatures.

Given that the End of Dragons' storyline had recently come to its epic conclusion, it would certainly align with the game’s new quarterly release schedule to unveil a major content drop or mini-expansion later this summer.
