According to GamesIndustry.biz, the Japanese mobile game developer and publisher gumi has shut down its Vancouver, Austin, and Hong Kong studios. Furthermore, it has "withdrawn entirely from Canada, Sweden, and Germany." The Vancouver studio, in specific, was only two years old at the time of closure and had yet to publish anything.

While the exact reason for the closures has not yet been announced, the news comes a mere two months after gumi shut down Chain Chronicle Global on February 29th. Hopefully, it is not a sign that gumi is in financial trouble.

For the time being, the rest of the company's studios in Japan, China, France, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines, and San Francisco, US will continue to operate. The company's most popular titles currently include Brave Frontier and Wakfu Raiders. Phantom of the Kill is still on the horizon.
