Since the 1980s, over a hundred Gundam games have been released on various platforms spanning multiple genres, including puzzle games, shoot-em-ups, fighting games, tactics-style turn-based RPGs, and almost everything in between. Surprisingly, there hasn’t been one single Gundam first-person shooter released, not until next week when Gundam Evolution officially launches on PC.

Gundam Evolution will plop you down into the pilot seat of your favorite Mobile Suits from the popular anime franchise. You’ll be able to team up with five other players and battle it out in fast-paced 6v6 matches where you can switch between different suit models to adapt to various situations. Each Mobile Suit features different attacks and skills as well as a unique ultimate ability that can be activated when the G-Maneuver meter is filled.

“Each playable unit in Gundam Evolution possesses its own unique combination of offensive, defensive and/or supportive skills capable of swinging the tides of battle,” said Bandai Namco. “The starting roster of playable characters will feature 12 units spanning the Gundam canon, including the classic RX-78-2 GUNDAM and the iconic ASW-G-08 GUNDAM BARBATOS.”

Additional Mobile Suits can be unlocked using regular in-game currency called Capital Points (CP) or by using premium currency called EVO Coins. The game will also feature three game modes: Point Capture, Domination, and Destruction.

The game is set to launch on PC via Steam on September 21st and will be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on December 1st.
