Multiplayer has been a hot topic for Halo Infinite players since the game launched last year without a co-op campaign. This even led to a very heated debate that quickly escalated into a full-blown flame war between players and developers. Developer 343 Industries managed to somewhat pacify the community when they started beta testing for the first-person shooter’s local multiplayer mode back in July.

Unfortunately, the feature has now been scrapped altogether and the multiplayer campaign’s release date now has an extremely vague window of release between this November and March next year as revealed in 343’s latest development roadmap. Season 3’s launch has also been pushed back to the same time period which could be as long as nine months after Season 2 began.

Naturally, the new roadmap has lit a flame under an already smoldering community who aren’t as bothered with the cancellation of the couch co-op feature as much as the ridiculously slow development pace of the developers. One player noted that aside from the addition of new armor pieces, nothing has really changed in the game, considering that it’s now just three months away from its first anniversary.

New features and content are still coming though, including a 30-tier and 100-tier battle pass, new maps, arenas and team battles, new equipment, and the forge, it’s just going to take a while before they arrive. You can check out the new development roadmap below for more details.
