Hyper Universe Free to Play Until October 23, Players That Reach Level 7 Gain Permanent Access

Hyper Universe, the side scrolling action MOBA published by Nexon and developed by CWAVESOFT, is free to play from now until October 23, 2017 (Monday) and those who reach level 7 during the free period will gain permanent access to the game. While Hyper Universe will be free to play at launch the game is available for purchase during early access. Aside from the free to play promotion, Hyper Universe also introduced a brand new Hyper (hero) to the game called Shasha, introduced new halloween themed emblems, skins, and even made some balance tweaks.

Prior to this promotion going live Hyper Universe was only averaging 20 or so players online at any given time which made it near impossible to find matches against other players. The game is now hitting over 100 players again but time will tell if it it can even hold onto those meager numbers.

This seems like a bit of an odd promotion. I think Nexon should just make the game free to play right now both on Steam and on their own launcher rather than doing these shorter free weekends and granting permanent access to people who reach level 7. I suspect they're doing this free weekend now because the game's playerbase has dipped quite a bit since first entering early access.

Note: The steam version is not free, but the one available on Nexon's game launcher is.
