Perfect World Entertainment and Tuque Games' top-down shooter Livelock was originally supposed to launch on August 2nd, but a delay was announced mere days before the launch could happen. Initially, only the PlayStation 4 version of the game was supposed to be delayed, but Tuque Games later decided that the PC and Xbox One versions of the game could also use some extra time in development.

For over three weeks after that, there was no news about a release date—presumably, Tuque Games was too busy preparing the game. Today, however, Perfect World Entertainment and Tuque Games announced that Livelock will finally be going live on August 30th. What's more, it will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One simultaneously. As of this writing, there are no plans to delay the game on any platform.

As was previously announced, the game will be $19.99 at launch. A three-pack will be available through Arc Games for $44.99.

Matt's Take:

Considering only one platform was supposed to be delayed at first, the indefinite delay on all platforms began to worry me after two weeks of not hearing anything about a new release date. I haven't seen a lot of hype surrounding Livelock—I've actually seen potential buyers that are less than happy with the $19.99 price tag—and I'm sure that some felt that they had the metaphorical rug pulled out from under them when the game was delayed indefinitely merely four days before it was supposed to be released. However, with the new release date less than a week away and the promise of the game launching on all three platforms simultaneously, there may be hope for Livelock yet.
