Lord Of The Rings Online Devs Promise Plenty More Adventures Across Middle-Earth
As Lord of the Rings Online slowly approaches the end of the canonical storyline from the novels, the question on everyone’s minds is, what happens next? While Standing Stone Games didn’t give a specific answer, they did assure players that they still have loads of new adventures in store for players before The Scouring of the Shire arrives.
“If the star of the show is Middle-earth, you can definitely have adventures there even after the Ringbearers leave,” said Senior Content Designer Jeff Libby. “It’s more that given the place of the Scouring at the end of the novel, it’s fairly reasonable for players to think that once they see it in-game, the story’s probably pretty close to over. Since we have lots and lots and lots of adventures still to have in Middle-earth, I think it’s perfectly reasonable to hit that pause button and explore those.”
With the final content update for Corsairs of Umbar now live, we’re now eagerly waiting word on what the next expansion will bring, but it’s probably safe to say that we won’t be seeing The Scouring of the Shire just yet.
