It’s been an extremely drawn-out journey, but Lord of the Rings Online’s Treebeard progression server is finally nearing the finish line. The slow-paced progression server is unlocking its next phase of content today, sending players across Rohan’s borders and into Gondor.

Standing Stone Games has yet to announce a new progression server to replace Treebeard, although it did tease that it’s currently in the works and will feature a completely different ruleset. The studio also responded to requests to open up the Ettenmoors PvMP zone for normal gameplay with an explanation of why it would be a bad idea to do so.

“Ettenmoors is and will likely always be its own self contained bubble in the game world,” says the devs. “Opening up other means to access it could prove to be detrimental to the balance of the area and it is not something we would consider without a lot of thought, and more importantly, a very specific and necessary intention.”

Meanwhile, those planning to purchase the Whimsical Patron’s Coffer supporter pack will have until June 2 after Standing Stone decided to extend the offer by a few more days.
