Lord Of The Rings Online Buffs High Level Mobs In Its Post-Carn Dûm Balance Pass

Standing Stone Games has rolled out a small balance pass for Lord of the Rings Online as a follow up to last month’s massive Return to Carn Dûm update.

Update 35.0.1 buffs higher level mobs after the Carn Dûm update made them far too easy to kill. Monsters will now have 25% more morale at level cap which will scale down to 0% at level 30. Monsters level 116 and above have also received a buff to their armor rating, raising their damage mitigation from 37.5% to 45%. These changes will also affect NPCs and player pets.

“Due to the changes in mastery, player damage has increased fairly substantially,” Standing Stone explained. “This was expected, but we wanted to take a little while to get a sense for how much the increase was. Now that we’ve got a better measure of it, we’re adjusting base monster stats to compensate.”

The update also revamps disarm mechanics to no longer regard weapons as unequipped. Instead, disarm now works much like Silence and will simply block the use of certain skills while the effect is active. Monster quests that have been locked behind the old monster play tutorial have also been made available to players who completed either the old or the new version of the tutorial.

Details can be found in the full patch notes on the Lord of the Rings Online official site.
