Lost Ark Has Restored Mistakenly Banned Accounts, Steam Flags Persist For Some

Last week, Amazon Game Studios banned hundreds of thousands of Lost Ark accounts for botting in what might be the biggest banwave since the game’s global launch last year. Around two-thirds of the game’s population ended up with permanent bans, which unfortunately also included legitimate but inactive accounts.

Amazon was quick to acknowledge the false bans and immediately started working on restoring erroneously banned accounts, regardless of whether the owners submitted a ticket or not. As of yesterday, all banned accounts have reportedly been reinstated although it’s not clear whether this includes botter accounts.

“All bans related to this incident have been reversed, both for the Lost Ark game and Steam accounts, and will be removed without penalty shortly,” announced Amazon. “If for any reason you have persisting issues, please reach out to Customer Support.”

While most accounts seem to have already been restored, some players report that their Steam profiles are still showing that they’ve been banned in Lost Ark which could potentially affect matchmaking in other games. Steam, however, says that they won’t remove the flag on their end and it’s up to Amazon to do so. It’s probably best for affected users to wait a couple of days to see if the flag will go away on its own before they file a support ticket.
