The Mabinogi dev team has a whole host of new things lined up for the anime-styled free-to-play MMORPG on top of its promised Unreal Engine 5 upgrade. Developer devCAT Studio’s latest producer’s letter offers a brief look at what’s coming this year, not the least of which is the game’s 16th anniversary event.

This month marks the 16th year since Mabinogi launched in North America, promising the return of the Festival of Stars event and its star-themed activities and rewards, including a new basketball mini-game. Players can also look forward to the annual Anniversary GM Event to celebrate the occasion.

Chapter 8: Generation 26 is also on track for release this summer with a new storyline, new monsters, and new NPCs in tow.

The producer’s letter also teased the coming of Renovation Season 5 which will bring various combat balance adjustments and changes in line with the recent addition of new Arcana classes and skills.

“Additional skill revisions will make their debut with our fifth season of Renovation which aims to reduce the gap between some talent and Arcana skills, and increase usability,” explains the producer. “This update will focus on improving the overall viability of using certain skills in combat, such as increased damage, reduced cooldowns, and other changes to improve skills.”

There’s also the new Moonlight Island system which will give players access to their very own fully customizable island. They’ll be able to decorate, expand, and terraform the island to their individual preferences and even invite other players over to participate in “various production activities” to acquire an array of useful items.

Homesteads will also be getting some love with the goal of giving players more freedom to decorate their private sanctuaries the way they want.

There are currently no hard dates for the aforementioned content, but we can probably expect more information as we move closer to their respective releases.
