Mech Shooter Galahad 3093 Kicks Off Latest Weeklong Open Beta Test
MechWarrior fans, this one’s for you. Simutronics’ mech-shooter Galahad 3093 has just kicked off a weeklong open beta test on Steam that will run until August 1. This round of testing will feature two new maps in addition to the three existing maps, bringing the total playable map count up to five.
The Rig is a three-base map that features a group of three inter-connected deep-sea drilling platforms with a watery end awaiting pilots with poor jumping and aerial skills. The Pit, on the other hand, is a vertical mine shaft where players will need to strategically use their teleporters and jump jets to maintain control of the map’s two bases.
“GALAHAD 3093 is a mech-based hero shooter set in a sci-fi future imbued with Arthurian legend. Choose your favorite Knight and customize their Lance—a menacing mech built for war—to fight in 32 player arena combat. Collect mods and weapons to upgrade your Lance and craft your own playstyle!”
The team will be hosting a tournament towards the end of the playtest with a mystery prize up for grabs for the player who gets the highest single game score. “What’s inside? A magnificent prize, surely, but what could it be? A time machine? A sandwich? A luxury yacht? A time-traveling luxury yacht full of sandwiches?” teased the devs. Certificates signed by the devs will also be awarded to players who place 2nd to 10th. Yay!
