Metin2 Launches On Steam

Yet another game is joining the list of MMORPGs that have been relaunched through Steam today. Over a decade after its initial release in the West, Metin2 has made its way to Valve's ever-popular digital storefront. Despite receiving "Mixed" reception in terms of reviews, it has already taken off in popularity, skyrocketing to a peak concurrent player count of nearly 5500 according to SteamCharts.

For those that don't know, Metin2 is an old-school Korean grinder. It is the 2004 sequel to Metin, a 2D MMORPG from 2000 that never launched in the West, but is still running in Korea today. Both games were created by Ymir Interactive, which was later bought by Webzen.

Metin2 boasts hack-'n-slash gameplay in a 3D environment, PvP duels, faction-based PvP, and old-school grinding. It has five classes—Lycan, Ninja, Shaman, Sura, or Warrior—all of which can specialize into a subclass, other than Lycans.

Those who are interested can download Metin2 now from the Steam store page.
