Back in December, a group of gamers filed an antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft to block it’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, alleging that the merger violated the Clayton Antitrust Act of 1914. The said lawsuit has summarily been dismissed by US District Judge Jacqueline Corley due to insufficient details on exactly how the merger will stifle competition.

“Plaintiffs’ general allegation that the merger may cause ‘higher prices, less innovation, less creativity, less consumer choice, decreased output, and other potential anticompetitive effects’ is insufficient,” ruled Judge Corley. “How? Why?”

However, she is giving the plaintiffs 20 days to refine their complaint a re-file the lawsuit. Joseph Saveri, one of the lawyers handling the case, says that’s exactly what they’re going to do. The status hearing has been set for April 12th.
