Mihoyo Details Upcoming Changes To Zhongli Based On Player Feeback

genhin impact zhongli bannerLast month, Mihoyo rolled out two new 5-star characters as part of Genshin Impact’s “A New Star Approaches” update: Childe and Zhongli. Childe was received well by the game’s community which is more than can be said for Zhongli.

5-star characters are meant to be the most powerful in the game but players felt that he was a bit lackluster and was severely lacking in power. Mihoyo initially responded that Zhongli is a support character and was meant to be played as such. The studio’s response didn’t sit well with the community in general which forced the developers to revamp Zhongli based on player feedback.

Mihoyo previews some of the changes coming in a new post on the game’s official site. “[. . .] We have made a further adjustment to Zhongli that increases his functionality as a support character while also improving his performance in Geo parties, non-Geo parties, and Co-Op scenarios,” explains the devs.

Adjustments mainly revolve around Zhongli’s Dominus Lapidis skill which has been buffed with an additional Stone Stele and a -20% elemental and physical resistance debuff for enemies within a set radius. The changes are now live on the test server although a live release has yet to be announced. The update will also only apply to Zhongli characters that have already been unlocked since he is no longer available in either the Standard or the latest banner.
